John Mayer opened up about his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift in a television interview. The multi-Grammy winning music artist spoke out, making rare public comments to MSNBC’s Ronan Farrow about their much publicized relationship which ended — badly — several years ago. During his appearance on the MSNBC’s ‘7 Days of Genius’ special the 37-year-old John Mayer spoke on a wide range of topics, but naturally his candor about his former girlfriend Taylor Swift. Since their split, each has written a song about the other; Mayer wrote “Paper Doll” which appears on his ‘Paradise Valley’ album of 2013 and Swift wrote “Dear John” a few years earlier; it’s among the songs on her 2010 ‘Speak Now’ album. While neither explicitly confirmed that these respective songs were about their relationship, the particulars and details have led to much speculation.
