Lindsay Lohan to Teach Acting to Homeless People?

Lindsay Lohan to Teach Acting to Homeless People?

When it comes to Lindsay Lohan, the surprises just keep on coming. According to TMZ, the troubled actress may teach acting to homeless people at Los Angeles' Downtown Women's Center, where she has been ordered to complete 360 hours of community service as part of a sentence handed down last week for an alleged probation violation.

The Women's Center has an ongoing theatre workshop called D.I.V.A.S (Dames Investing in Very Authentic Storytelling), where the women at the center meet up and learn to express themselves through storytelling and narrative. A spokesperson for the center has said that the workshop is "extremely interested in having Lindsay contribute her talents" to D.I.V.A.S. when she begins fulfilling her community service obligations this week.

After receiving a 120-day jail sentence last week for allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace which violated Lohan's probation, (a sentence she told Tonight Show host Jay Leno she found "shocking"), Lohan is now out on bail while her lawyer appeals the sentence.

In addition to jail time, Judge Stephanie Sautner also has required that the actress perform 360 hours of community service at the Women's Center, as well as 120 hours of janitorial work at the L.A. County Department of Coroner's facility (i.e. the morgue). Lindsay is due back in court June 3 to fight misdemeanor charges stemming from her alleged theft of the necklace.

Team Lohan was no doubt pleased that Judge Sautner downgraded the felony charge to a misdemeanor, but Sautner was not inclined to show any lenience regarding Lindsay's behavior -- thus the jail time and hefty helping of community service. "I see the intent here," Sautner said of Lohan's crime. "I see a level of brazenness with, 'Let me see what I can get away with here.'"

Though Lohan hasn't yet been assigned to a particular workshop, a source tells TMZ that Lindsay feels that teaching acting to the homeless women is "a perfect fit for her community service" -- and we agree. Those D.I.V.A.S. are about to meet the ultimate real-life diva!
