Cameron Diaz was the host of Saturday Night Live for the third time, but the first in nearly a decade. Worth the wait? Check out video highlights and see what the television critics have to say. The ‘Annie’ star Cameron Diaz was back for the first time since 2005. She shared the stage with the SNL cast as well as musical guests Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars who are blazing up the charts around the world with their infectious throwback hit ‘Uptown Funk.’ The show was off to its usual political bang with a cold open that was a new take on the classic ‘Schoolhouse Rock’ as “President Obama” introduced a new character, the “Executive Order,” a character that has not been particularly popular in the real world, and much the same in the comedy sketch. Cameron Diaz then took to the famed Studio 8H stage with a Q&A monologue, a perennial format, as she gave it a new spin although arguably the format is a bit shopworn. And as she is among the stars, in the Jay Z and Will Smith-produced screen adaptation of the Broadway musical, ‘Annie,’ as the notorious Miss Colleen Hannigan, it was not a surprise [...]
