The former Disney star, actress-singer and entrepreneur and the former NHL player released an official statement through a rep confirming the “amicable separation.” The story was first reported by E!News with an exclusive statement from the rep of the 26-year-old Hilary Duff announcing that her three-year marriage to 33-year-old Mike Comrie had come to an end as they “have mutually decided to an amicable separation.? The statement continued: ?They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other?s lives. They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son, and ask for privacy at this time,? People magazine quoted an anonymous source who said “there was no major incident” and that instead “they really did drift apart.” The source went on to note the “effort and thought” they had put into making the decision and said, “They tried couples therapy, but in the end, they realized at this time, they work better as friends.
